This altar cloth is made from lovely iridescent dark red silk dupioni, representing the Goddess in her Mother aspect as she gives birth to the sun, the newly reborn God.

I've embroidered it with metallic gold thread for a rich, festive look. Each corner has a cluster of holly leaves, and the center features a beautiful snowflake. I chose a rather solar-looking snowflake, as a reminder that the days will soon be getting longer and winter will eventually give way to spring.

The hem is stitched with tiny ivy leaves, also in the metallic gold thread.
