Custom Inspirations

These are some of the projects I've worked on by special request.

Collaboration for a Fabulous Wedding Corset

This project was so much fun! I love collaborations. Jill from jillscorsets drafted a corset pattern and cut the pieces from some navy silk dupioni. I drew celtic knotwork designs to fit the pieces, then digitized and embroidered them, and sent back the pieces for her to complete the corset.

Multimedia Quilted Wallhanging

This project was a really fun challenge. I painted the background with dye, then created the large design elements with applique, and finally added custom digitized embroidery details. I finished it all off with quilting and hanging loops.

Baby Welcoming Gown Ensemble

This ensemble included a gown, undergown, bonnet and cloak. The gown was white linen with white embroidery and heirloom stitching, finished off with sweet cotton lace. The embroidery design on the bodice of the gown was a celtic deer. The baby's mother was of native american descent with a family symbol of Deer, and the baby;s father was scottish, so this design was a perfect representation of both sides of the baby's heritage.

I was honored to work on this project, destined to be a family heirloom. So sweet, and with personalized touches not readily available on commercial gowns.

Green and Purple Patchwork Bag

This bag was made with cotton fabrics in shades of green and purple, embroidered on the front with a custom digitized logo.

Appliqued Trick or Treat Bunting

This bunting was created to hang near a candy table at a Halloween themed wedding. Each letter was cut from Halloween printed cotton fabrics, and appliqued onto a felt flag. The flags were then sewn into a black binding, which was finished off with some orange decorative stitching.

Prosperity Checkbook Covers

These checkbook covers were embroidered with a vine and flower pentacle design by Urban Threads on the outside, and with "Blessed Be, Money Flows to Me" on the inside.

Witchy Jacket Back

This orange coat was a thrift shop find, made fabulous and personalized with this witch design on the back.

Black Twill Cloak

This cloak was made with cotton twill to be durable and washable, for someone whose tastes tend to simplicity with subtle details. A pretty clasp and black decorative stitching around the hood, front opening, and hem were nice finishing touches.

Monogrammed Handkerchief Set

This set was created to be a gift for a Proper Southern Lady. The set included a variety of styles, in white and ivory, all monogrammed with her initial.

Pillowcases

Pillowcases made with pretty printed cotton trim or embroidered details turn something mundane into a special gift.

Balloon Artist Aprons

These aprons were created to the specifications of a balloon artist for custom fit and high functionality. When I could not find the right fabric in the right colors for the trim, I dyed it myself.

Pyramid Prism Quilt

I used the traditional Pyramids quilt block, and created my own bright color layout. It seems random up close, but from a distance, it is clear that there is a pattern to it all.

Embroidered Family Wallhanging

This piece was natural linen embroidered with a custom digitized design, meant to hang with a dowel slipped through a sleeve at the top. I left extra space at the bottom to be able to add more glyphs in the future.
